Are you ready to channel your inner Swiftie and throw the ultimate Taylor Swift themed birthday party? From decorations to activities, we’ve got you covered with 6 creative ideas to make a memorable party.
The following ideas are from my daughter’s Taylor Swift themed birthday party. All of the Swiftie decorations and games were such a hit amongst the group of 9 year olds. We hope some of these ideas can be an inspiration for your next Swiftie Celebration!
1. Taylor Swift 1989 Polaroid Frame
Our Taylor Swift 1989 Polaroid frame was the favourite party decor! Here’s how we made it, spoiler alert, it was super easy.
For the Taylor Swift 1989 Polaroid frame supplies:
- White poster board
- Cardboard
- Sharpie, black marker or black paint + brush
- Utility knife
- Yard stick, ruler or long straight edge
- Pencil
- Hot glue
How to make Polaroid frame:
- Draw a rectangle on poster board, leaving an even frame about 4-5″ along the top and side edges and about twice that thickness 8-10″ on the bottom edge.
- Place cardboard underneath and cut along the lines with a utility knife.
- Use hot glue to attached cardboard to the backside to make the frame more durable.
- Use a Sharpie, black pen or marker to write “T.S. 1989” on the bottom. That’s it!
- You can use the Polaroid frame as is, or make a fun photo wall backdrop like we did.
2. Taylor Swift Photo Booth
Kids LOVE photo booths! Even if you don’t make the Polaroid frame, a photo booth is still such a fun idea for a Taylor Swift themed birthday party. I was in a bit of a time crunch (if you’re a mom preparing for a birthday party, you know), but overall I think it turned out well. What do you think? Let me know in the comments if you’d do anything differently.
For this Swiftie Photo Booth you’ll need:
- Balloons
- Paper Balloons
- Tape
- hot glue
How to make an easy balloon arch and photo booth:
- Blow up balloons to different sizes. A mixture of size and colour it helpful in creating a beautiful balloon arch. I had limited supplies and tried to use what I had at home, but a few different shades of pink would have looked nice. To limit popping, don’t over blow the balloons up.
- Spread out paper balloons. Again a mixture of size and colour is helpful in adding dimension to the balloon arch.
- Tape balloons to the wall alternating between sizes and type of balloon. With a little more effort you could make your balloon arch / decor a lot nicer than this one!
- I happened to have this unique, antique red chair so we used it with the photo booth too. You could add any chair and cute blanket or other fun themed decor. Heart shaped glasses would be a great idea too.
3. Guess Who’s Lips, Taylor Swift Party Game
This red lipstick birthday party game is fun for so many ages. I purchased one bright red lipstick and makeup sanitizer wipes, which was more cost effective than buying 10 different lipsticks.
Keep reading for the full tutorial, or skip ahead to the video link below, if that’s your style.
For this lipstick party game you’ll need:
- Red lipstick
- Make-up sanitizer wipes
- Paper
- Pen
How to play Guess Who’s Lips Swiftie party game:
- Each person puts on the red lipstick and places the paper between their lips to “kiss the paper.”
- Whoever is facilitating, writes each person’s initials on the back. We had one person go to the bathroom at a time and then wiped the lipstick clean with the sanitizing wipes in between each use.
- Each person gets one random lipstick paper and you go around the circle trying to guess who’s you got.
- It was hard to guess, but a few girls got it and everyone had fun trying.
4. Taylor Swift Friendship Bracelets
Is it even a Taylor Swift party without friendship bracelets? We did this craft and the girls took them home and I thought it was a good alternative to “party favours.”
We purchased beads and stretch elastic from the dollar store, but I’ll link below some supplies to make your shopping easier!
Taylor Swift friendship bracelets supplies:
- Letter beads
- Elastic string
How to make Taylor Swift friendship bracelets:
- I lined the table with brown kraft paper to make it easier to see and clean up the beads. It also worked out well because I used a Sharpie to write the name of Taylor Swift’s songs so the girls could see the spelling.
- Tape one end of the elastic string to the table and string beads through, in order.
- Tie a double or triple knot when done and trim the extra ends.
- These are also fun to make for trading!

5. Swiftie Party Snacks
I’ll be honest, I didn’t have my A game on when it came to snacks for the party, but you know what, the girls still loved it. Normally I make things from scratch, but with our last minute party changes, I went connivence and it worked out.
For snacks we had a fruit platter and chips and for dessert we had cupcakes made from a box mix, that the girls decorated. I grabbed some lemonade to go in the Starbucks cups (I ordered a Starbucks drink then asked for 10 extra cups) and we had gold paper straws at home, which was the perfect addition.
Let’s get this Taylor Swift party started!
A Taylor Swift themed birthday party is a fantastic way to celebrate for any Swiftie. With a little creativity and planning, you can throw a party that feels like a personal concert. So grab your red lipstick, set up your Taylor Swift decor, and get ready for a enchanted celebration that even Taylor herself would be proud of.
