Are you learning how to renovate your home? Here’s one thing that you can do to UP your DIY game and it really isn’t hard! Actually, I’d bet money that once you give it a try you will be surprised how easy it is. For the longest time I resisted, it was a “Mr. Sew Bright job”, but when I became too impatient waiting for him, I decided to learn how to do it myself and was pleasantly surprised how easy it was and how GOOD it looked! Keep reading because I have lots of tips that will make it easy for you too!

What is it? CAULK. Yup, I said it.

Have you taken any of your DIY projects to the next level with DAP’s products? If you follow my instagram @sewbrightcreations, you’ll know I’ve used several different types of DAP caulking in my renovations and furniture flips and it never disappoints.

Full disclaimer, this post is sponsored by DAP, but only because I asked to work with them because I LOVE their products.

Here’s some before and after (caulking) photos that really showcase just how big of a difference caulking can make. My favourite is the beam in the workshop. With minimal materials (mostly scraps) and DAP ALEX FLEX Premium Molding & Trim Acrylic Latex Siliconized Sealant I was able to truly transform that ugly beam into something beautiful, while staying within my budget!

Adding MDF or wood trim is a great, budget and beginner friendly DIY way to truly transform your space. You’ll get lots of experience caulking easy lines, which will build your confidence for your next DIY project!

It’s important to note that I used wood in the bathroom for the board and batten because it is more durable when exposed to moisture and I used MDF in the laundry room square trimmed feature wall. I prefer MDF for this type of project because of the smooth finish.
